MA Lik

A widely respected and influential figure in Hong Kong and the mainland, Ma Lik is currently the Deputy Publisher of the Hong Kong Commercial Daily, Secretary General of the Democratic Alliance for Betterment of Hong Kong, and Deputy to the National People's Congress.

His diverse background also includes his current involvement in the Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee, Hong Kong Cheshire Home Foundation, and Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education. Formerly the Chief Editor of the Hong Kong Commercial Daily, Deputy Secretary General of the Basic Law Consultative Committee, Director of Treasure Land International Property Consultants, General Manager of The Hong Kong Institute for Promotion of Chinese Culture, and member of the Selection Committee for the First Government of HKSAR, Ma has a wide range of expertise ranging from the news media, culture, politics, to the business community. Ma is frequently interviewed and consulted by the local and international news media because of his active role in the political circles in Hong Kong and the mainland. Ma also writes weekly and daily columns that appear in Hong Kong Economic Times, Hong Kong iMail (English language daily), Ming Pao, The Sun. Ma received his Bachelor of Arts (with Honors) in Chinese Literature from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
